This tour takes you to northern Sweden, to ice-fish on the mighty River Lule. The river has its source high up in the Swedish mountains, near the Norwegian border. At the end of its course, about 440 km later, it empties into the Gulf of Bothnia at Luleå. The fishing on the River Lule enjoys a nationwide reputation. In 2000, 2002 and 2004, it produced the biggest rod-caught salmon in Sweden. The “hot” river areas, often reachable only by boat, become accessible in the winter when the ice is thick.
