The midnight sun is nowhere to be seen, but instead the colourful Aurora Borealis light up the dark arctic skies in the northern regions. While King Winter closes the northern regions to most people, he opens up a new world of attractions and activities to those with 4X4 vehicles and snow scooters.

This tour takes you to northern Sweden, to ice-fish on the mighty River Lule. The river has its source high up in the Swedish mountains, near the Norwegian border. At the end of its course, about 440 km later, it empties into the Gulf of Bothnia at Luleå. The fishing on the River Lule enjoys a nationwide reputation. In 2000, 2002 and 2004, it produced the biggest rod-caught salmon in Sweden. The “hot” river areas, often reachable only by boat, become accessible in the winter when the ice is thick.
